My name is Katerina Sidonova. I was born in Prague, Czechoslovakia in 1964. I
am a dragon.
My dad was a writer and my mom an English teacher.
I graduated from the univeristy and became a teacher of handicapped children.
I worked as a tutor. I was trying to help young people who ran away from home or
from a penitentiary.
I have three children (two boys and a girl). I
am married to a drummer.
My first book was published in spring 2002. Its name is : Son of the Tree. It
is a book of fairy-tales.
My second book is going to be published in November 2002. Its name
is: I am Katerina. It is a story of my life. I am very nervous and I am a bit
scared. It
is not easy to let everybody know who you really are. But I canīt help it.
Something makes me write about myself.
I am writing a new book now. It is going to be a fiction this
time. I have
already written over 30 pages. But only god knows if I finish it or if it will
end up in a bin.
My favourite books: Mark Twain - Adventures of Huckleberry Finn
Thorton Wilder - The Eighth Day
My other favourite authors are for instance Philip Roth, Isaac B. Singer,
James G. Ballard, Stephan Zweig, Ken Kesey, D.J.Lawrence and many others. I like
to read science fiction and books for children.
My favourite musicians: Neil Young
I love to listen to his songs and music. Whenever I feel down I put
headphones on my ears and listen. He helps me. His music tells me that the world
is good and that I can be what I want to be. And that I should be myself.
Bob Dylan
I discovered Bob Dylan when I was 13 years old and still at a basic nine year
school (that īs how the institution was called here). A friend of my mom who
lived with her at that time gave me "Hard Rain" as a present for my
birthday.
I like to listen to other singers and bands too: Leonard Cohen, Patti
Smith,
Jimmi Hendrix, Jim Morrison (he used to be my idol), Lou Reed, Beatles,
John Lennon, Bob Marley, Bim Sherman, Rolling Stones, Janis Joplin, Pearl Jam,
Red Hot Chilly Peppers and so on and so on...
My favourite film: Michelangelo Antonioni - Blow up (I am not sure if the
translation is right)
I saw the film seven or eight times. Still donīt have enough of
it.
My favourite colours are blue, green and yellow.
